Charlie's parents come from two of my favorite herds - Serena Kinders and Gray J Kinders. Both these farms have done excellent jobs of maintaining the dual purpose quality of their Kinder goats, producing solid, meaty goats with nice udders and high milk production. So far, Charlie seems to be no exception - he is as solid as a brick, and his full sister freshened with a beautiful udder. He should add thickness and meat to all of his kids, while maintaining high milk production and excellent udder quality. For more photos please click here:
Serena Kinders Trude's Fantin 3rd Generation Kinder Buck
Sire: Serena Kinders Fantin la Tour Dam: Serena Kinders Trude Birthday: March 27, 2012
When I saw Fantin's sire, I knew that I wanted a buckling out of him. Lucky for me, he sired a buckling that looks just like him - Henri. This buckling is a hunk! He is solid and well blended, with great width and nice length and depth of body. His sister, Triscuit, is also part of our herd. She has developed into an outstanding doe with excellent breed character. Henri's kids are showing strong consistency of dual purpose Kinder type. I expect him to improve udder attachments on the does he breeds, as well. For more photos please click here:
DBD Dairy Achilles 5th Generation Kinder Buck
Sire: Still Meadow Rafael Dam: Meadow Ridge Hershey Birthday: May 27, 2012
Achilles came to us all the way from California. He has many outstanding qualities including good muscling, brisket extension, width and a wide rump that is very level thurl to thurl. From what I have seen, he adds muscle and improves teat placement and size on his daughters.
Bramble Patch Kinder Blaze 5th Generation Kinder Buck
Sire: THF Batman Dam: BPK Nutmeg Birthday: May 4, 2013
I waited for years to get a buckling from Bramble Patch Kinders, and Blaze was worth the wait! I solid, correct buck with all the qualities I look for in a buck, I have very high hopes for him as a herd sire. I expect him to add brisket extension, bone and type to his kids while improving attachments and rate of growth. Blaze's first kids are due the last week of March. For more photos please click here:
Pricker Patch Farm Samuel 3rd Generation Kinder Buck
Sire: Serena Kinders Fantin la Tour Dam: Tickleweed Hill Dottie Birthday: April 8, 2014
Sam is a combination of some of the best lines that I have brought into my herd, and I expect great things from him. He was bred to one doe this fall, and I look forward to seeing his first kids while continuing to watch him mature. If he lives up to my expectations, Sam should add width to his kids while decreasing legginess in does that tend to be too dairy. He should also improve teat size and placement in his does. The following bucks are unproven boys that have been retained so that we can watch them grow. We do this for a number of reasons, but mainly we want to make sure that our bucklings are turning out the way we want them to. Some of the boys below will be sold as bucks, some will be wethered and occasionally one will replace a senior buck that has too many daughters in our herd. If you see a boy that you are interested in, please let us know and we will let you know when he or a full sibling becomes available.
PPF Galaxy 6th generation buck
Dam: PPF Kiwi Sire: PPF Percy Born spring 2015
At a year old, this guy still has a lot of filling out to do, but I'm impressed with him so far. I would like to see more width and less leg, but hopefully that will change as he matures.
PPF Carl 4th generation buck
Dam: PPF Daisy Sire: SKS Trude's Fantin Born spring 2016
This guys should have been sold as a buck, but his personality is so sweet that we haven't been able to let him go. He is big and solid with excellent conformation and smooth blending. His dam has a beautiful udder and great production, so there is no reason he wouldn't make an outstanding herd sire, but he will most likely be wethered and be a pet.
PPF Wilbur 4th generation buck
Dam: SKS Fernwillow Sire: SKS Trude's Fantin Born spring 2016
Wilbur's dam died after complications related to c-section. Wilbur and his sister were bottle fed by my 12 year old daughter, and spent their first few weeks of life in our house. Wilbur has all of the qualities that would make him an incredible herd sire, but he and his sister are bonded to each other and to my daughter. After using him on one or two does he will be wethered and remain here as a with his sister, Charlotte.
PPF Ripley 4th generation buck
Dam: PPF Kiwi Sire: SKS Trude's Fantin Born spring 2016
I was planning to keep a doeling out of Kiwi this year and retiring her, but she was pregnant with two boys. I'm holding onto this guy until she gives me another girl. So far he has awesome width and muscling and seems like he'll be quite a hunk.
PPF Corduroy 5th generation buck
Dam: PPF Velvet Sire: PPF Blaze Born spring 2016
This boy was one of a set of quads, so he had a slow start to life and wasn't for sale. Now that he's had a chance to grow, he is proving to be buck quality. He has lovely width and is one of the most level kids I've had. With his genetics, he should improve toplines and rump and throw beautiful udders on his daughters. Corduroy is offered for sale to a special home.
Olive Knoll Cotton 4th generation buck
Dam: OKK Chamomile Sire: SKS Charlie Browner Born spring 2016
This buckling has excellent width, muscling and length of body. I expect him to mature into a beautiful buck. He is for sale.
